Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), under Universal Music Group’s umbrella, is a music publishing company who owns and administers more than one million copyrights. They are one of the largest music publishing businesses in the world with more than 47 offices in 41 countries. Some of the well-known artists that are affiliated with UMPG are: U2, Mariah Carey, Bon Jovi, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, 3 Doors Down, No Doubt.
Studio V was retained to relocate UMPG’s offices from Sunset in Hollywood to a Kilroy Realty building in Santa Monica. Since this was a fast track project, Studio V worked closely with UMG Facilities to assemble a team, obtain proper landlord approvals, and work with the City of Santa Monica to quickly obtain a permit. Design elements include an exposed structure, much use of natural light, Herman Miller workstations, and a wireless café hang-out area to promote collaboration and informal meetings. Studio V, along with their team, delivered this creative project on time and on budget.
